Hand made by old magazine pages, these beautiful beads are very easy to make and lots of fun to admire.
Inspired by many of you here on Craftster, I found my way to making some of my own.
I also used this link
http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Make-Paper-Beads/ For extra help on how to make them.

Star flower of my paper beads.

Dark Blue, Brown and Black ones.

Turquoise Green, Pink, and Black ones.

And my favorite, Red, Orange, White, and Black ones.

I am going to make some cool earrings for my best friends graduation present. I will surely post those on here too. Wink

They are lovely beads. I like the length of them.

I have tried making these paper beads and they don't seem to come out the way I would want them to look, well not as awesome as your beads. I bought scrapbooking paper and used that but it didn't make the beads look the way that I wanted them to look. Any suggestions? Thx.

Thank you all for the great comments! Shocked
Laura, try using smaller size paper. Then when you go to roll them make sure to keep close precision, and make them as tightly wrapped as you can. Also I'm not quite sure of what you really want them to look like, but to keep them looking neat, use a ruler when drawing a line on your paper. Hope I was of some help to you!

I think that was my problem, I was just cutting without measuring. I will try that next time. Thanks!

They're so beautiful, never would have guessed theyre made out of paper. I tried my hand at it but had nothIng to coat them with except pearly nailvarnish. After a few coats you couldnt see that fabulous stripeyness that paper beads give. What did you coat them with?

These are lovely! I now remember making these as a kid in the late 80s, and honestly haven't even thought about that in ages. as an adult I can see the appeal! I especially love the blue/brown/black ones, for some reason they make me think of the ocean. Thanks for posting the link, I may have to give this a shot with some gift wrap scraps or something!

Paper beads are so much fun.  Yours are great, love the colours.  I find magazine ads make good beads, because they have large areas with single colours.
