'Tis the season for baby showers. Gotta love 'em.

This weekend's baby will be receiving this little number.

I was inspired after finding Alexander Henry's "Pirate Pups" fabric. It's adorable, and it's the backing.

I swore to myself that I wouldn't do another pieced applique quilt for a long time because they're so darn fussy, but I guess I forgot that promise.

Pieces were adhered with Lite Steam a Seam, then sewn on with a narrow zig-zag. My machine is several decades old, and while it's sturdy and reliable, it doesn't have the fancy new stitches that a lot of modern machines have.

A few closeups...

I hope the little guy has lots of adventures with it as he grows up!

Any pirate baby ought to be proud to snuggle up under that quilt.

Great quilt!  I may  use your quilt for inspiration for a first birthday gift for my nephew, it is a pirate theme party.  Awesome work!

This is so cute!  I especially like the eye patch and the single piece of fabric that looks like a lot of gold.
