I've been looking around at 50's inspired dress and this one is great that and your photos are great. I'll have to check out that pattern. I'm starting my own little business and one of my friends said I need do a retro 50's housewife look with a green apron. I think something like this would be great. Great Job!

I seriously ADORE this.   I'm looking for something like this to wear to my sister's wedding in August...any clue if a plus-size pattern exists in this or something similar?  I also really like the little jacket in the pattern as well.   I'm not really used to showing off my upper arms.  Tongue

Hmmph. The dress pattern I used goes up to a (sewing) size 18, but they don't specifically list a plus-sized version of that (and looking through Simplicity...and McCalls, and Butterick, I can't believe how limited the plus size selection is Angry). However, the Dragon Dress tutorial/pattern is pretty close to this dress pattern! So I recommend to all you ladies, from size 2 to 22, to try it out. The main difference is the skirt; to get the volume (and enough room for the petticoat to fit!) my dress has 6 panels. You could always buy a retro dress pattern to get the skirt, and then make a halter/tank top and stitch em together? :S Or maybe try adjusting the parts for a few other patterns? Sorry :S

I haven't made the jacket yet, only because I already have two boleros, but regardless if its made or bought, a little white jacket does look really cute with this dress! (Mine is elbow length; makes my arms look less sticky.) Don't forget a flower for the hair and a sweater-guard!
