Bec99, I'm sure Averia can explain how she stitched this, but it looks like it's cross stitched over 1 thread on 3 separate pieces of cross stitch fabric and then she tacked them to the clothes line.  The edging on the quilts look like she used the buttonhole stitch as you do in hardanger.  I hope I got that correct........
I just love it and feel so honored that she'd spend so much time stitching this.  It's BEAUTIFUL!

All of the hoops in this gallery have been amazing!  It's easy to see that everyone has put a lot of contemplation into what their partner will love and a lot of love into the crafting.  I'm so glad that I joined this swap - you guys inspire me to learn more and think outside the box hoop!

Yep, that's just what i did. The quilts are on 28-count evenweave. I didn't entirely trust the buttonholing - so i went over the outside 4 threads of the fabric with fabric glue and then ironed on some interfacing to the back before doing the buttonholing. The interfacing had the extra bonus of hiding the sloppy backs just in case anyone wanted to flip the quilts up to look.

Thanks for all the comments!
