Here's the cutie pit hoop Edie made for me!

She's based on someof my favorites from etsy, and I LOVE her.

I dream of a house covered with your art, and would love a personal swap. Pm me if you'd like to spread the crafty love! I also need blue fabric scraps for a scrap quilt!

I really liked both the little character and the alien! The flowers and the green monochormatic one are both amazing!

I got two parcels today. Yay!

Troublet sent this lovely karate hoop. The character between the karateka reads 'wei' in Chinese. In Chinese it means fear, but in Japanese it has the added meaning of awe and reverence. Since karate is a Japanese martial art and I practice a Japanese form, I think this is really suitable.

Thanks so much. This is really lovely. The design is so elegant and well stitched.

The other hoop is from the lovely Averia, who has lovely handwriting.

Can you believe the stitching? The outline is metallic thread.  Shocked\
The characters are 'Nanyang' - the town I used to live in in China. It's a rural nowhere town but it's pretty special to me.

These are going up on my wall right away. Thanks so much to both of you.  Smiley

Yay! I'm glad your hoop made it and that you like it Schnerby! Smiley

sheepBlue is unable to post a pic of the hoop that she received from me and asked that I post a pic for her. It's a monochromatic piece done in reds. There are 3 shades of red in this hoop.

Ack I've gotten so behind on commenting. Great hoops everyone!!

Thanks TroubleT! I love the hoop you sent me! I totally need to try doing more freeform embroidery - the one I did for Robinpich was kind of like that and it was really liberating to do. Thank you so much!

You're welcome sheepBlue! Smiley

I've only recently gotten into the free form and monochromatics. They are very liberating but still a challenge as you try to figure out which stitch to use where. It makes you do a lot of visualization.

They're all great hoops! The alien and the matryoshka are cute Smiley I particularly like the red one and the Chinese hoops! Beautiful stitching.

-The mushroom matryoshka is soooo adorable!
-I love how TroubleT interpreted that quote, when she claimed I was very curious! Awesome job.
-Averia - your craftsmanship looks impeccable!  Are those satin stitches filling in the the characters?  Even if they are applique very straight lines.  And I like how you wrapped the hoop as well!
-I love the black and red contrast in the last two hoops, very cool.  The freeform is very well balanced!
