Well,

my friend in work goes on maternity leave next week so I wanted to make something for her little girl when she comes along in a few weeks.

I just bought a panel of fabric (what a cheat!) that I liked, backed it and put a border in it.

I stitched the border twice, round the wee stripey bit on the panel and then around every other letter square.

The backing on it was a pretty gingham print - I'm pretty sure she'll like it but this was my first attempt at a quilt and I can see so many faults in it already.

Oh well, I'm sure I'll get better when more of my friends start having babies!!!   Cheesy

Thank you - I bought it from a fabric shop in Glasgow called Mandors.  There's on in Edinburgh too.  Wink
