I was inspired to try one of those good ole easy sundresses from an old tank top and chunk of fabric
as i was sewing it, i wasn't sure i liked how it was coming together
but once all was sewn and done i was sold and will be making more
great way to destash!

I adore Betty Boop and love your dress!! <3 I love how the top matches the bottom very nicely also without actually matching!  I could never get away wearing a dress like that but on you it's lovely!!

the waistband is a belt i made from broadcloth and velcro. ive seen so many of these style dreses with the wide elastic to break up the top and bottom but i instead used a 3/4" elastic to make the skirt part the right size and shape to match up before attaching it to the top and then made this belt to strap on over the seam. another dress i made is white and black so i made 4 colors belts so i can wear whatever accessories i feel like (pink, red, blue, and purple)
