I have a singer advanced and while I was sewing today the machine locked up and the bobbin and the surrounding piece popped up and got stuck so I took the plate off got out the stuck thread, changed the needle and the bobbin but it did it again, any ideas of why its doing this or how to fix it, the pictures shows what it looks like after I take the plate off but before I fix it.

Any help is greatly apprectiated

it sounds like the whole bobbin casing is out of whack, that when it popped out, you have accidently put it back in wrong.
I did this with my Jenome once and it was a pain the butt till I figgured it out. ( I had it in upside down)
I dont have a Singer so I recomend possibly googling a close up veiw, and pulling out the whole bobbin casing, and re putting it back in.
Good luck Smiley

"To replace the bobbin case use the screwdriver to open and hold the lever open while you insert the case back in. The straight part of the case will be on the right and you need to place the case so that the circular part rides on the slight grove in the hook.(The metal thing it sits on). Once you have it in place you can release the lever you've been holding open . It should fit over the edge of the bobbin case and not allow it to come out. Rethread the machine and turn it by hand a few times to see that it is working properly. Good luck!!!
