Knob Cozies!!

I have an allergy to nickel. A bad allergy. Yet we live in an apartment that has brushed nickel fixtures. Not a good combo, and I have a painful and itchy right hand to prove it. Then my husband hit upon the idea that I knit up some knob cozies so that I can touch them without triggering my allergy.



What a great idea. I really wish I'd thought of it. Here's a few that I whipped up really quickly.



It's basically just a tiny hat for each knob. But it works!! It really works!!! Whew!



What do you all think? I'm really happy with them. And I have a whole bunch more to make, but it's no problem. They work up super-fast.

Wow! Thanks everyone for your supportive feedback. Yeah, the nickel allergy is a pretty serious problem. I have to carry around my own set of bamboo "silverware" and obviously jewelry, belts and metallic fasteners are out of the question. But coming up with creative solutions can be fun!

These are a great idea! Functional and pretty!  Good luck with your nickel allergy...I can only imagine how tough that is, considering how many things are make with nickel nowadays. Way to overcome!!!
