Mine's packaged up and ready to go- only thing holding me back is my partner forgot to put her zip code on the questionnaire  Cheesy!  I googled her address and think I have it, but want to hear from her to make sure before I send it. I can't believe I didn't notice it was missing before!

I received a lovely cute goodies in my package today. I'll get pics up soon. Due to an eye injury while planting. (a pine tree attacked me while planing ferns under it. ) it hurts to look at the 'puter screen for too long.

Hi! I'm here this evening (knock on wood), and will get us all properly updated. I went over to my mom's house in a local suburb today to get an update on the on-going weather damage issues, and I ended up crying for a couple of hours. Seriously. What is with this weather? Cold, rain, hail, rain, WIND, hail, HOT, cold, rain, hail, HOTTER. It's crazy. Her house was in need of updating, but now it needs MAJOR repairs. I'm bumming.
That said, I have been watching over this swap, but unable to post while I'm at work, and often not home while I'm not at work. Sorry, Guys!
I'm here now and will update as I go.
Take care!

I suppose in a weak attempt to look at the silver lining, at least your mom didn't put a lot of time and money into updating the house right before more damage was inflicted?

The weather has been terrible for a good part of the country and my thoughts are with those dealing with it!

Hey. You are so very right about the terrible things that have happened elsewhere with this weird weather, and I am really trying to keep that thought front and center, and count my blessings (which are many).
My mom is in a skilled nursing facility, and the house is in a "living trust", with no money to fund it. I can't sell it or rent it out, and I have to pay for everything I deem necessary. We lost shingles, gutters, and leaf guards, and had lots of glass damaged. We now have to install a sump pump as the basement has gotten lots of water in for the first time. The chimney was in need of replacement and the plan was to eliminate it and install a high-efficiency furnace instead... just not right now.
So there's my sad story, and the pity party is now over. Smiley

May all your weeds be wildflowers!!

Sorry to hear how the weather has affected your mom's house. I hope that you'll be able to repair what is 'necessary' without too much hardship.

I live in roughly the same area as AlternaWidget and the amount of rain is insane. It would be really nice if we could g o more than one day without rain. (i think it's been nearly two days on the trot without any rain this weekend. I just keep reminding myself when it rains that that's a couple more days before I'll need to water plants.
