Wow, its been like AGES since I've been here! Whoa.

Like many of you working in sterling, I'm watching silver prices skyrocket to an almost new high (not quite yet though!). so I'm looking at my scrap differently. I decided to recycle rather than refine for cash and made these two rings. One is totally from scrap and the other is all scrap except the shank and the sapphire. Smiley

drat, I can't post a photo yet. Sad

These rings were that way for sure - the shape of those snipped pieces really informed the overall design. They were the inspiration!

What a truly interesting idea. These rings are absolutely stunning and each free form abstract design is so unique. Each ring has it's own little personality. I've always admired metalsmithing.

Thanks so much! I've never done a series - until recently. I've got this one going and one called "topography". I love that they are similar and yet, like you said, each has its own personality. And when photographed together they have a certain impact.

(metalsmithing is addictive!)
