These are really gorgeous!!!!!!!! I love the fabric that you used for all of them. Quirky fabrics are the best.

How much fabric would you say you used? I have some really nice blue/tourquoise/light green plaid that I want to use for something, but I don't have too much of it. And I need a backpack, because always using messenger bags is starting to KILL me.

Thanks for all the nice comments!

Wow, those are great!  I have been wanting to make a backpack for a while and this may be the perfect inspiration.  Thanks!
If you make one, be sure to post! I'd love to see it!

Unfortunately, at this point in time, I can't make a tutorial. Sad Hopefully I can come back to it though!

I only used about 2/3 yard for each of these, both lining and outer fabrics. I also used some interfacing that wasn't super thick, and like 3 yards of cotton webbing.

Your backpacks are pretty nifty Smiley Where do you purchase the sliding buckle pieces for your straps? I have tried to find those for some recent projects but my local Jo-Ann's and Walmart do not carry them or have them in stock when I visit Sad

Strapworks! They are amazing, and super fast! The actual buckle is like less than a dollar, but shipping can get pretty costly. Watch out for the gold (don't remember the actual name, but it implies gold or something). It's not actually gold, and looks like an oil spill.
