I had a thought on something to do, but couldn't think of what to do with it. Then my husband of all people gave me an awesome idea. I researched to figure out how to do it and now I know exactly what I want to do for 1 of the items!!!! Off to the hardware store and craft store  Grin Other ideas are in the works, but nothing for sure yet.

Husbands are such great backboards to bounce ideas off of.  My husband was also helping me with ideas to incorporate certain things into what I wanted to do.  Man, I love him.

Also - my husband just was talking about pruning back the HUMONGOUS maple in our front yard and I said "hey - when you trim that tree, can you take down that branch - right there?" and he's like "Why? Is it hanging too far over the house or something?" and I said "No, I just need it." Good hubby that he is, he doesn't even question me.  Cheesy

Lol, that's awesome!  Such a good husband.  ^_^

I am glad to hear that there are other good craft supportive husbands out there. You know its true love when your hubby comes in from fixing his jeep and asks, "Can you use this serpentine belt for anything?" I sure can! Turned out to be the perfect handle on a book purse  Grin

So, have any of you ever made something for a swap then decided to keep it for yourself?

I am struggling with giving one item up for 2 reasons. 1- I really love how it turned out and it looks great hanging on the wall in my kitchen, and 2- I am not 100% sure how to finish it. It needs one more thing, but I just don't know.

So much for counting my chickens before they hatch  Undecided

No, I haven't ever kept anything I made for a swap for myself, b/c I figure I can always make another one-or if I like it THAT much, I make another one as I'm making the first-or that my swap partner will send me something even more incredible!  Kiss

I think that our husbands understand that it's no use questioning us after awhile!  Grin Roll Eyes

*peeking out between my fingers*
I'm not ready to see snipets of finished work yet!  Now I'll have horrible nightmares of sending late because I see what everyone else is doing and completely second guess myself.  It will take my poor husband a week to talk me out of my tree!

*deep breath*  I think I will be okay if I don't check in too often!  Grin

I'm glad that I'm not the only one still putting ideas and materials together.  But I have to say that I am always so impressed with the swappers that immediately know what they're going to do.

I'm still tossing ideas around in my head and looking through my stash to see if anything inspires me ... just ideas, nothing made yet!  Had to take my sewing machine in for repair today.  Argh - the cost of repair is crazy, but I'm not in a position to buy a new machine anytime soon.  I did find some awesome fabric in the shop though and machines that I could stand and dream about for awhile!  It always kills me that there are machines that are less than what mine cost years ago and they do 10,000 more things than mine!  When I win that lottery, I'm gettin' one of those $8000 ones  Wink

Finished off my first project for my partner tonight! Eee! First time I ever made this particular craft and they turned out pretty darned fab if-I-do-say-so-myself! Got to make a trip to the hardware store this week for a few bits-n-bobs (my hubby loves it when I say that I need to go to the hardware store he he) and I think I'm well on my way...

Say - here's a question: what are the particular rules regarding sending "extras" in with your package. I just found a couple of particularly cool things that I'd like to send my partner... is there a hard and fast rule? Or are we just allowed to spoil willy-nilly?

Thanks! And have fun crafting everyone! (as if you wouldn't... pfft Tongue)
