Ooooh, yay! I got partnered with the organizer! (I bet it's because I've named the trees in my yard. )  I'm happily stalking her now... and I already have a bunch of ideas.

I have a tree right outside my apartment balcony and window (its a big tree).  When we were moving in I requested to be by the tree and I got the one right next to it.  score!  ^_^  It, however, doesn't have a name . . . yet.

We have no plans for the whole weekend and are expecting icky weather - the perfect time to get some crafting in.  I have a couple of ideas, but am not sure yet just how they will work out.  I usually go though a couple before I settle on the ones that are "it".

So happy to be paired with someone who makes jewlery!  I have a little something that I was really hoping to get to include with my package.    Hehehe...

lol, really?  that's awesome!  What are their names?  

Well, we have Spooky, who is a really old gorgeous ash, the nereids (a cluster of river birches), we had a beautiful ancient oak that fell in a tornado a couple of years ago, Mr. Sasquatch, and a new pin oak, Otis. Then there is Pepper (tulip poplar), Annabelle (redbud), Ma and Pa Kettle (walnut trees) and their offspring, Ellie May and Jethro. There are three pines at the edge of our property that are just "The pines", and two rock maples the we call "the boys", a huge water maple named Maleficent, her baby who doesn't have a name, a locust tree (the Plague), and a sweetgum named Shuriken. Three blue spruces, Donner, Dasher and Blitzen, and two newish cedar trees that haven't been named yet.

Wow- we have a lot of trees! (Also, I am probably a pretty big dork- lol)

WOW! Teaser photos already!?!?!?!? Gracious! Okay - my fellow first-time-swappers: did your swap-anxiety just kick into overdrive?! 'Cause mine just did! Yikes!

Glad you mentioned that some of these items were "waiting for the right person" because otherwise I'd feel just totally out of my game here.

On the upside: finished one item for my partner tonight! Started working on it as soon as I read her questionnaire, so even though I'm totally totally anxious, I'm still super-excited!

I am in another swap and we were talking about pushing ourselves into areas that we are not comfortable and a very smart Craftster (MunLtStmpr) commented:
"I LOVE to hear that!  Heck, we're on craftster because we love to create... why on earth should we settle for what we currently are?  GREAT JOB!!!"

I loved it! I think we all need to hear this (on a regular basis). I am not a first-time-swapper and I still get swap anxiety and this time is no different (especially since my partner specifically does not want the one craft that I am relatively comfortable with - yay!  )... So, lets all embrace our fear and have some FUN crafting!! Yay for trying new things!!

Sorry to cause swap anxiety 

Teamama- try not to be to anxious. Like I said, my partner made it easy with what she wanted. Believe me, there have been plenty of times where I have agonized over what to make, how to go about it, or if it is good enough.

And I don't have a day job, so I can craft whenever I want

I agree with MunLtStmpr- I have branched out so much since I have started swapping. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But really, what is the point of being perfect in one area when you can be pretty-good-if-I-do-say-so-myself in a bunch of areas.

That's my philosophy anyway
