It is leather, it's a Moroccan pouffe. I love it!

I too am a fan of these binder covers...they are so creative and fun looking, jazzed up the way they are! (and neat/tidy, too) Cheesy
 I'm letting you know that I'm pulling some inspiration from you in order to finish one I have in the works...I've been stuck, but you've shown some great ways to bring it all together...thank you for sharing...=]
