The guards at the boarder finally stopped playing with the stuffie that AllmostDawn sent me.  And THEN the postal folks managed to find me to give it to me (one miracle after another).  But it was so worth the wait.  Please meet........

HAM-A-LOPE!!!!

It is clearly related to the better known Jack-A-Lope.  I'm assuming one parent was indeed a JAL, but it is not completely clear what the other parent was.  My guesses so far are, hamster (thus the ham-AL), mink, lemming (lemming-a-lope?),....my husband offered up potato, or football...What ever it is, t was quit hungry after it's long journey.  As soon as I opened the Mallow-Licious jelly filled strawberry yummy things that AlmostDawn sent along, it began to consume them at an alarming rate..To the great relief of the strawberry keychain.  As you can see in the photo, it was a bit worried about why the HAL was looking at it like that.

I did manage to grab a few from the poor hungry thing.  Those things are exactly what I have all ways imagined Hello Kitty's strawberries would taste like where ever she lives.  Sugar heaven Grin
The note that came with all this adorableness, explains that AlmostDawn found this poor little critter, clinger to the railing, just as another storm was brewing.  She had nursed it back to health, when it reveled it was very hot in that environment.  So, she felt he would do better in my more northern environment.  So far, the little guy seems to be fitting in nicely.  Seems a bit shy, but that is to be expected after such trauma.

Thanks so much AD!  I just love him Grin

The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese. . . . I would rather have cheese.
