"Always" Harry Potter hoopla

Okay... so I got some of that fancy pearly thread and I've been wanting to do a HP themed hoop for ages now... So, here is my Snape's Patronus hoopla. The doe itself is in a subtlety variegated blue, the "magic-y" bits are all in a slightly lighter pearl blue. I'm guessing it took around 15 hours over three days. The colors look a little faded in the picture- they're really pretty close to the colors from the movies... It's not perfect, but I'm still rather geeked about it. Also- if I ever decide to use so much pearl/metallic again, someone should slap me. Total PITA.

Oh- the design is based on a tattoo I saw somewhere.

I love it!  The colors are perfect.  Some hoopers have said that using Thread Heaven (a silicone treatment) makes metallic floss much easier to work with.  I haven't found it round here, but they say it's in the notions section (or was it quilting?) of bigger stores like Jo-Ann's.  I love the effect of the thread so I think it's definitely worth trying it if you can find it.

Wow- thanks for the compliments, guys!! And someone "favorite-ed" it too! I'll have to look for some of that Thread Heaven stuff (or something similar). I love the look of the metallics and really want to use more of them. Anything that would make it easier would be totally awesome.
