I just LOVE crocheting with recycled vhs tape. It is already so neatly rolled on those little round holders, and when I am done with the vhs tape, the rollers make perfect holders for ribbon and trim!  I also crochet with cassette tape..tape.  It is akin to a fingering weight yarn. I've been known to make barbie clothing out of it!

I think this looks like crocheted patent leather. I used a recycled button and some leftover trim for the handle. It is SO light, I was really surprised, but very sturdy, and you can machine wash it! Just don't throw it in the dryer or it will melt!

Brilliant. An excellent way to recycle.

WOW!  Who knew you could even do this?  And it is lovely and unique!  Looks like some old VHS tapes will go missing from the family room soon! Cheesy

Congrats on being selected as a 2011 Featured Project!

Oh, I'm so glad to find out you can actually crochet with VHS tape!  I've been contemplating learning to crochet just in order to try it (hence my stalking of the crochet board).  It looks so good as well!  Ace, you've totally made my night.  Now I just have to learn to crochet...
