I just love the skirts everyones made from old pillow cases, but with my bigger behind that was never going to happen ! so I decided that I would need a single quilt cover at least ! I drew round my favourite skirt and made a pattern
. The only spare bedding I could find was an old Sponge Bob one of my daughters that she no longer wanted ( teenagers !!!) so I thought it would make the perfect first go ! And it actually fitted really well !
Here I am modelling it . . . well sort of !!

Then I found the fabric I really wanted to try . . . http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/1193112/Trail/searchtext%3EQUILT+COVERS.htm
and to my delight the print was on both sides so I was able to make 2 skirts and also have enough left over to make more !!!

and more modelling

I am really happy with my first attempts, but maybe I should spend more time cleaning and get all that wax off my mirror !!!

I LOVE all of them! But I'm CRAZY about the "Galaga" one!
That was one of my favorites at the arcade when I was a teen!

Thanks for the ideas. That's what I'll have to do also cuz of all the 'junk in my trunk'.
There's no way my hiney would EVER make a pillowcase work!

... and they lived happily ever after ... in Ireland.

I have found a flaw in using bedding . . . it's very thin material (you all probably knew that already !!) so I will need to make underskirts for them, even though I got lots of great comments when I went out in one yesterday !! (maybe that was because the material was so thin !!!)

Dear Miss Jols,
What cool skirts! I too would have to use a sheet instead of a pillowcase.
Nice job Smiley
