Really cool project! Very old school with the roses and swallows, but such a modern use of the themes.

Very cool. What kind of paint did you use? Did you prime it first?

thanks again for all the love, y'all! as for paints, they are just standard little squeeze bottles of cheapo acrylics like you get for a buck-fifty at wally world in the craft section. no, i generally don't prime before i paint! HOWEVER! it is important to note that i always buy unfinished bisque/porcelain/resin to work with. if it has a shiny glaze on it, you can pack your paints up and use it for target practice, or turn it into a paperweight, cause you're never gonna get paint to stick to it! resin is tricky cause it is not porous (see the holy family i posted) so yeah, hitting it with a fine sandpaper to make the surface a bit "toothy" is a big help. otherwise, look for figurines in bisque that are either unpainted or only painted with acrylics already. i prefer them au naturel when i can get them....  this horsey, for instance, came home with me cause no one at the ceramics shop wanted him because he has a chip out of his ear. (look close at the white ear - see that divot? Cheesy ) and count on doing multiple coats! i'd say that's the main trick to getting the solid rich colors is patience. i generally apply 2 to 6 coats of my base colors. once i get them nice and solid, i'll do one or two coats on the details and embellishments!

anyways, thanks again, and if y'all have any other questions, shoot!  Cheesy
