I was asked by the organiseres of a bookcrossing* event to make some bookmarks to go in the goodie bags that all the attendees would be recieving.
So, I asked bookcrossers to send me any broken books they may have - with missing pages or waterlogged or suchlike and used them to make these simple little book marks.

They are just a square of paper sewn onto a square of felt and decorated with buttons & ribbons from my stash.
It took a while to make so many (about 50 in total) so I was glad I'd kept it simple - and I think it's still an effective design, i like that the different buttons and colours mean each one is unique
*www.bookcrossing.com - a community of readers who swap books amongst ourselves as well as leaving them 'wild' on benches etc for people to find. Our UK convention is this weekend  Smiley
