Firefly/Serenity Wash's Dinosaurs Pillow

I made this pillow for ifallthraindrops for the Whedonverse 6 swap; and since she has received and posted I thought I would share it here as well.



For anyone that has not seen Firefly the inspiration for this piece comes from a scene where the ships pilot (Wash) is playing with two toy dinosaurs and acts out how they may have interacted while exploring their now found homeland. The image of Wash is based off of an action figure (though I don't recall what company makes it) and is crayon tinted.  Most of the outlining was done in stem stitch and back stitch.  The text was all backstitch and the "thread shading" was done with a single strand of floss in back stitch.  The back and borders are a dinosaur printed flannel.

It's great! I just borrowed the dvd's from a friend, and I laughed so much at that scene! I'm about half way through the series and really enjoying it!
