This is the week my school honors our Volunteers. ( I teach Kindergarten) So, I am whipping up some sun catchers for the mother's in our class who volunteer on a regular basis.  Nothing like waiting until the last minute to fire them up, eh?

This photo shows the sun catchers assembled and in the kiln ready to fire.

They are easy to make.  2 inch by 3 inch clear base glass (2 pieces)
I cut 1 inch square pieces of red, blue and orange glass into fourths diagonally. (Flower petals)
I cut strips of green glass for the stems.
I used white Spectrum System 96 Opaque Pebbles for the center of the flower.
A high fire wire was bent and will be fired in between the two base sheets of glass.

Viola!  Easy as pie!

I will know how they look in the morning and with any luck they will cool by the time I need to race to school.

...So...This is what insanity must be like, I thought.....and I could kind of see the appeal.

Love! Is there any way to snag a picture of the pieces after the fuse?
