Inspired by this post http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=358681.0.

I have been working on this project on and off for a while.  It has taken much longer than I expected, but only because I couldn't decide on a design once all the pieces were done.  I'm still not sure it's right, but I think I'm getting closer!

By my count, based on the number of magnets I used, I think there are close to 400 circles.  The boards are just sheets of metal that are 24"x12" from the hardware store.  To try and give it as much visual interest as possible, I gave about half the discs a coat of glossy finish once the paint dried.  It hangs in our dining room/kitchen as the focal point behind our table.

The discs range from black to white with lots of shades of gray in the middle.  Not that you can tell from the photos.  Sheet metal is hard to photograph!

We should all fear evil men, but what we should fear most, is the indifference of good men. On a lighter note..have you smiled today? If you have not, Just DO IT! If you have..do it again!

Thank you!  As for the discs, they are just wood circles you can get from the craft or hardware store.  About half are Woodsies brand circles (which I found in the kid's craft section), and the others are the hardwood discs that come a few in a pack (usually in the woodworking section).

This looks great, but what I really love is that as magnets you can move them. If you get tired of the circle you could make lines or mountians or a heart surrounded by the other colors for valentines day. Awesome job Smiley
