Stitching is going smoothly, and plan to send Saturday, just under the wire!  Wink

Working with a metallic embroidery thread and it is kicking my butt.  Though it's pretty, it is wearing me out! Probably won't use it again for a looooooooooooooooong time.

LOL- I have been there before! I don't think the time has passed yet for me to try it again... I still shudder at the little spools in the store.  Cheesy

It's taking me longer to do some of the filling than I expected, but I should be done in time.

So Canadians - here's the question - should I/we with partners in Canada, wait to see if the strike happens to send? I'm concerned about sending via Post today and my hoop getting lost for who knows how long?
Do you think we should wait until Monday? Or just arrange for alternative shipment - Fed Ex or something?

I looked a few things up, but it didn't help much. I'm assuming since you're there, you might have a better insight as to what to expect.

Thanks! Grin

no idea savage pixie... there has been very little info dispensed.

strike mandate says midnight tonight is when the decision comes down.  i sincerely hope they get their crap together and settle before then.  i am a news junkie so i will be watching the noon, six and eleven news... and the headlines at midnight.  i can post updates.

fearless leader limeriot.... what do you think we should do?  hold til monday? or pay thru the nose with fedex?
i am even thinking about intentionally sending late if the strike happens.   Embarrassed

Im not sending/receiveing from canada.  However, if I was, I wouldnt mind if my partner waited and sent late in hopes of sending via regular post.  As I would hate for them to have to spend so much $ to send a hoop via fedex.

Canadian Swappers and Swappers with Canadian Partners

Let's hold off on sending until we know how the strike situation turns out. I'll keep an eye on the news but please post here with any relevant updates.

Hopefully everything gets worked out and the strike doesn't happen but if it does, we'll cross that bridge. I don't want anyone shelling out half their paycheck to get their hoops sent off so we'll come up with a more agreeable plan Smiley. Nobody will be docked for sending late because of this strike situation.

To demonstrate how much I pay attention to the news...  (and I'm in the US) I didn't realize Canada was having a postal strike situation.  I'm sorry!  That sucks!

I haven't worked with the metallic floss.  I usually use blending filament and while it breaks once in a while I've not had that much trouble with it.  I actually forgot to put sparklies in Melladh's hoop.  Sad  So now I'm adding them in other ways before sending! Cheesy  I'm going to spend my weekend adding sparklies and taking care of the back of the hoop and then send on Monday if life allows me to follow my current plan.  *crosses fingers*

I've been wondering, how does everyone here send their hoops? I've never sent an embroidery in a hoop through the mail, and I'm a little nervous it will get broken or squashed. Undecided Any tips?

I sandwich my hoop between pieces of cardboard and pop it all in a bubble mailer. No problems so far.

I was done last week, but things keep coming up that prevented me from getting to the post office! I'm definitively sending tomorrow, though.
