ok, this was discovered at my mom's house. I didn't make it, but i could, and so could you. Its so cool. My mom picked this thing up at a yard sale for 50 cents. Everyone in the house hates it but me. now i know why we get along so well!

ok, what it looks like is various colors of broken glass (start drinking crazy beverages now or rummaging through the neighbors recycling!  Then BREAK IT ***BE CAREFUL! WEAR GLOVES!***(maybe put it in some paper bags and go hit it w/ a hammer outside. Smiley

Looks like someone poured resin (or polyurethane) into a shallow pan and arranged the broken glass artistically.

once it dried, they drilled (or poked) small holes for thin wire to connect the 4 pieces.-you could easily do more than 4 or less

she has it in the window sill of her sun room and it looks really cool when the sun comes through it.

You could probably also put some images in there if you wanted to make one really crazy. i've been meaning to do this, but just don't have the supplies here yet.

she just measured for me:

14.5" long almost 8" high
each panel 3.75" wide

its not very big, but you could make yours any size, you just may need more holes.

hehe thanks. also note that the glass does not need to be fully immersed in the resin, in fact, its much cooler if its not. one side will be flat (the one agains the pan/tray whatever, and the other side will be raised. very cool indeed. Smiley

Thanks! perfect way to use up all the scraps left over from my stained glass crafting that are too small for anything real, yet I refuse to throw away.
i think it would make a cool room divider,   esp.  if you got enough sun in the room.

i think it would also make a cool mobile, if you secured everything. nothing more dangerous than broken glass falling from the ceiling! ha
