I was so excited to get the marbling done I just wanted to post a picture of it. All I need to do is figure out if I want to use resin and put in a new edge or use white grout.  I used blue vinyl to recover the chair seats, only because I am putting it outside. Page 4 will have updated pics with grout before resin.
What it looked like before I started

what it looks like now

the top of the table's pattern

tell me what you think and if you have an opinion on whether or not I should use resin or grout on the table top to fill in the marbles....I already bought an edging made out of aluminum

That's very nice. Where did you get the blue leather by the way?  Smiley

this is gorgeous! im not really sure what resin is..i think it dries clearish. whichever way you do it you couldn't wreck the appearance, thats for sure.

acfcheung..its blue vinyl, and I bought it at Hancocks fabric, and it was only 3.44 a yard! So I have plenty of vinyl left for any future re-coverings, in case something might happen to the chair seats.....I have two cats and they love to lay all over the top( i guess because the marbles are cold and they cool their balls on it) and the chairs.
I think I am keen on the idea of using resin as well, I think it would stand up to the weather better as well krazigal72 and swalsh. I'll post pics as soon as i am done, but it shouldn't look much different than it does now, just a clear resin pour and metal edging, and its done YEA!
Thanks again...Linda

That table is amazing! How long did it take you to do that?

That's wicked cool...nice job.
I'd go for resin too - I have some lap desks that were done in resin 10 years ago and they only have a few weak trouble spots from bubbles that I was careless about back in the day....
