It really does seem silly to charge such high shipping for something as lightweight as floss.

Or dresses... I had to pay $30 to ship one simple cotton dress to me. I guess I have to pay to give our packages a place on tha airplane or something? I was just checking out Joann's,a dn they simply don't ship overseas. I once wanted to buy stitch markers, from the Lion Brand website. Because I couldn't find crochet once in Belgium. Yeah right, $2.49 for the markers and over $30 for shipping. So not worth it...
You'd think, with the globalisation... Yet...

Shipping is expensive due to the rising costs of fuel that effect all shipping services.  Plus the increased cost of living, so people who work for these services need to get paid more too and it all adds up.

When you ship items, weather they are a small box of rocks or a small box (same size) of floss or whatever lightweight bone- they still take up the exact same space on the truck/boat/airplane etc.

It sucks but it is true.  That's why everyone in Alaska is concerned about the prices of stuff like toilet paper and paper towels skyrocketing this summer...

Looking to de-stash cross stitch magazines, particularly Cross Stitch Gold or New Stitches?  Please drop me a line!  I'd eat to unicorn zombie apocalypse or buy some missing from my library!

herrschners has some dmc thread for 39 cents, however there shipping is a little pricey. but sometimes they have good deals on patterns etc for cross stitch.
