T-shirt yarn crocheted purse

I've been making rugs by crocheting fabric for awhile, but last night i whipped up this little purse.  What do you think?  i cut up a t-shirt into strips and crocheted them together.  the thing i'm worried about is that it is pretty chunky, which makes it a little thick and heavy (but maybe not, i hardly ever carry a purse) but also very strong.  it is about 10 inches wide and 5 inches tall. it has a fold over loop to wrap around a button for a closure and it is unlined.
Like it?  Think people would use/buy them?  How much would you charge or pay for something like this?

i think you should make some with short straps too if you're going to sell them.  but i have no idea what to charge ... i'm one of those people who just goes home and makes it myself.

of course you sell them! very spring too! I'm afraid i'm a bit like jennybean and wouldn't know what to charge as I would try and recreate myself but handmade purses seem to go from anywhere between $10-sky's the limit- how long did it take you and what were your material costs? You want to make sure you give yourself a decent hourly wage!

Wow, I just did that exact same purse in the same color only i knit it! AHHHH that is sooo weird!! we must be twins seperated at birth or something....

another option you might want to try is doing a tote bag size. it looks nice and strong and like it would be perfect for a summer/beach tote - they'd be cute in stripes from different t-shirts

I decorated them by "embroidering" over the top.

The velour looks great. I'd pay 30 bucks for those. But that's before shipping and exchange (I'm Canadian).
