In another inspired mix of contemporary and traditional, I give you the SSID and WEP KEY Sampler!



On 14 count oatmeal colored aida, with four colors.  My housemate got the idea from when friends come over with laptops and mobile devices and always need to connect to her wifi.  It was a hassle looking at the router every time and she doesn't know how to change the password to something memorable and whenever she wrote it down on something, it'd get lost.  So here it is to be framed and hung on the wall.

She already has a bunch of decor with tree motifs, so I thought I'd continue that.  The blue/green color scheme matches the colors of her walls, too.

Took me the better part of a week to bust this out.

Some details






I was up until 2:30 last night saying "Just one more leaf just one more leaf" until I had finished it all.  The leaf stitches are crossed in different directions, which makes the thread shimmer a little bit.

I LOVE IT!! As an engineer, I think my coworkers would LOVE this too!! From far away, it looks just like a sampler... but close up it reveals its geeky goodness! Smiley Making a mental note for the future!
