Here are a few of my recent reconstructions! I'm new to sewing, so I still do a lot of things by hand, but I always make sure it's neat.

This was an awful old grey grandma jacket I was given by a friend. I think it was originally from Urban Outiftters, and they had done something weird with the sleeves by adding elastic. So I chopped off the sleeves and went crazy with lace and ribbons. I'm still looking for some replacement buttons instead of the gaudy silver ones (hopefully some big blue hearts!) but I haven't had any luck as of yet.

The next was just an average cheap-and-nasty denim mini skirt. It was on sale probably because it's so ridiculously short!! So I sewed together a couple of layers of off-white eyelet lace to give it some length. It was still a bit plain, so some diamantes were glued, some buttons where buttoned and some ribbon was sewn. I love it!

I also whipped up a cute little kitty collar for my little Juliette. She keeps escaping from her collars! It's a nightmare! She'll probably have her way with this one by the end of the day, but it looks cute on her for the time being.

It's hard to tell what it looks like, I know, but it's basically a strip of ribbon which is fastened by a large button. There's also the mandatory piece of elastic and silver bell, and a cute little bow sewn on the back.

I hope you like my creations! Feel free to critique or offer ideas. ^_^

Those all look extremely fabulous and classy, and that is such a great idea for lengthening really short skirts.

Sorry to get off topic...I'm not sure if you've ever hear this before, but I've been told that having a bell on your cats collar is not a good idea.  The cat will hear the bell constantly whatever it does, and it can really damage their hearing over time.  That bow is freakin' adorable though.

Hmm... That worries me, but, I live in Australia in an area with quite a bit of wildlife, so I've always thought it was a good way to make sure Juliette doesn't kill any parrots or lorrikeets or other unique birds. She has managed to develop a way to slink about the place without her bill ringing though...  Undecided Maybe I shouldn't bother with a bell?

Wow - I love the jacket - it's gt a really nice shape to it - did you take the sides in at all?  I also think that the 'random' buttons on the skirt are adorable!
