So lucky me gets to marry my soul mate next year! I know im starting early but im trying to get stuff done this summer since im not in school. My fiancee is a roper and I am also a barrel racer. We are getting married in an old barn that has two levels. The top is gorgeous! Im wearing cowboy boots with my dress and my bridesmaids are wearing short purple dresses with boots. I want to have a western theme but not cowboy boots everywhere just kind of a nod to it anyone got some ideas?

Here's a great blog post I found about a Western Wedding

Decor ideas- use rope for a "bunting" with wildflowers/horseshoes/barbed wire stars attached
-wrap votives in rope
-antique oil lamps, wagon wheels, saddles etc
-use metal campfire pots or mason jars as centerpieces; fill with wildflowers and grasses

Ring an old fashioned dinner bell to announce when dinner is on.

Have one of those old western photo booths set up so people can get sepia pictures taken dressed up in old west garb.  The pictures can be your wedding favours.

Thanks for finding that blog! The gingham ribbons arent quite what I had in mind , I am not planning on using that color scheme. My colors are deep purple and a bright orange

You're welcome, I personally liked the minimum of western "cheese" in that blog post.  Being a fan of gingham, I will add that you can find it in any colour.... Smiley

Good luck in planning you're wedding, keep us posted on your progress!
