A flower hoop, just for me!

I'm so into swapping at the moment, that I never have time to craft for myself these days. So a couple of weeks ago we went on holiday and as I also can't sit doing just nothing these days, I thought it woudl be a perfect time to do a hoop for my hoopla wall. I started out by finding a pattern on the internet, this took my fancy: http://craftstew.com/embroidery/1500-free-embroidery-patterns and resized it to fit a 6" hoop. I traced it onto a scrap of muslin with a washable marker and selected some threads then packed it up in my suitcase ready to go. My embroidery skills are quite basic, but I just decided to start sitiching and just have fun.



And here is a close up of some of the flowers:



And here is it on my Hoopla Wall, which is really starting to take shape now thanks to contributions from kwiltykate, Kitten Wrangler, Imafundork and Norahkate. There is also a tiny steampunk tree of life made by Mr Yumjello01, up there as it is too delicate for me to wear while my children are so young, I love that I can still appreciate it. And some of my inchie collection too.

Pshaw!  You've done gorgeous work with your "basic stitches" - I heart this!! 
(Embroidery was my first craft - a family friend taught me when I was about 8 or 9 - still one of my favorites!)

Thanks for posting your way cute flower hoop. It helped me get some inspiration as to where I want to take a free hand embroidery project that's been floating around my head. Very nice work!
