I usually do gift baskets with a variety of home made things as well as inexpensive store bought things thrown in. Here is what I've planned to make so far:

-home made bbq sauce
-I might attempt slow cooker bacon jam
-a variety of chocolate barks (last year I did white and semisweet with salted peanuts, white chocolate peppermint, and smores bark)
-oreo bombs (I think this is one that Sweetsforever came up with, but I could be mistaken)
-spiced nuts
-shortbread cookies
-mini quick bread loaves (not sure what flavour yet)
-cream cheese sugar cookies
-maple sugar cookies
-chocolate espresso cookies
-chipotle spice cookies (if I can find the recipe)
-rosemary butter cookies

I'm hoping to make more but we'll see how it goes.

I think I am doing monogrammed-tile-modge-podge coasters for everyone this year. Super cheap, super quick and super functional!

The kiddos are getting all their functional gifts in boxes that will have windows, flowers, door, etc drawn on them so we can build a fort with them when they are all opened. (They are little. They only want the boxes and paper anyway! bahahahahahahah!)

Oh, and the hubbs is totally getting the longest most ridiculous Doctor Who scarf ever. It will be epic. There will be pictures.

Homemade cold process soap, and jams/jellies made from fruit in my yard.  Luckily, we hang out with the kinds of friends who love stuff like that.

A couple people per year get handpainted portraits, but for obvious reasons we limit these to a COUPLE.  This is one from last year, where I had a friend pose with her baby for a different painting.  Then I secretly painted this one for her.

The difference between an artist and a not-artist?  Artists do it.  Not-artists never try.

I love these inspiring gift ideas!!!!

I hope to create my first gift baskets this year.
I bought plastic wraps/ribbons to cover them.
I have not tried shrink wrapping the plastic yet.

I would like include small homemade crafts, cookies/mugs/hot cocoa, etc.

Since this is my first time making gift baskets, I need ideas for additional items to include.

I look forward to your ideas!!!
