i just finished my first swap with an excellent partner, thanks sloth003!! i decided to use a couple of her themes: space/science, gerbera daisies, and dinosaurs, and had a FABULOUS time making it:

she told me her favorite "space thing" was pictures from the hubble telescope, so i found 3 different ones and printed them on printable fabric, and then i embellished all the celestial fabrics with seed beads on the stars. for the gerbera daisies, i attempted an elongated "lazy daisy", with a seed bead center:

also, after PM'g back and forth, i discovered we had a shared love of dr. who, so i had to include a little reference

i have done some cross-stitch in the past, but all of the amazing needlework on this site inspired me to attempt some embroidery for the first time, so i free handed a TARDIS using backstitch and a seed bead for the light, with embroidery/beading for a "star trail" behind it:

did a cross-stitch label for the back with blue fading thread:

i have SO MUCH respect now for all of you who embroider and/or use seed beads regularly! was also VERY thankful for the binding tutorial that MareMare posted for us-i'll never do binding another way again! it was hard to send this away when i was done, but it was totally worth it for the AMAZING MAQ i got in return

now i am officially addicted to the swaps
