I made this critter for my partner in the amigurumi addiction swap.

The pattern is by Hansi Singh and it's a challenging one! I was dropping F bombs like crazy while knitting this little guy. My hands were tired by the end of it but so was my brain! Each row is different and confusing in its own little way Smiley. It was still fun to make though and I think he turned out pretty cuddly for a lizard.

I used a skein of Briggs and Little wool for the body and some Lion Brand Wool-Ease scraps for the feet and spiney back bits. There are pipe cleaners in his legs and feet to help him grab onto things.

Thanks for looking!!

Ooh! Is this the Hansi Singh pattern you mentioned before? It looks awesome! I love the color you chose. Did you use a pipe cleaner to help the tail curl, or did the short rows do that on their own?
He is so cute! Great job! Cheesy

Yep! This is the one I mentioned before Smiley.

The tail does curl on its own but I did sew a thread through the middle of the whole thing so that it would stay wrapped tightly rather than springing around.

I hope you gave yourself a nice celebratory drink after knitting this: he came out great!! Very detailed, cute, and your stitch tension/gauge is amazing and makes me embarrassed for all my non-blocked WIPs...LOL

In Seattle, and using Briggs & Little? And  I thought that yarn was a closely guarded, local secret.
(I'm in Nova Scotia, a neighbouring province to the B & L "home".)

Great job on the chameleon, BTW!

It's great, it looks just like a real chameleon tail. Smiley
