Hi all,
This is my first dress.
I bought a nice big curtain (vintage) from the op shop.
How could I pass up that cute print?
It is actually a very light green but the iphone didn't pic it up too well (the flash photo is probably closest to true).
I also got a pattern from there, unfortunately it was cut to a size 6 (which I am definitely not!) so I upsized. I also changed the design as it was not as vintage as I wanted.
Turns out I upsized the pattern a bit much and had to take out two whole panels!
Oh well, it turned out okay in the end.
Here it is on MANdy my duct tape form.
What do you think? Cheesy

*Note to self: Iron the dress, clean up the sewing room and actually DRESS the form PROPERLY before taking pics next time!*  Cheesy

That contrasting binding really lifts the dress, inspired!

Look twice, buy once. Nooooo
Look twice, decide I can make one instead.

"Who would have ever thought this dress used to be curtains?"

great job, and I agree that the contrasting binding works well for the dress, congrats on your first one!! Smiley
