I just think it's very funny that at least three of us had the same idea of turning the matchbox into a suitcase! Mine came when someone commented that an early box in the Gallery (can't remember which one) reminded her of the inside of an antique suitcase. And that reminded me that I have a piece of art deco lining paper from a 1930's trunk that I've hoarding. (It's the paper lining the matchbox suitcase.) The rest just followed from what materials were available in my stash.

My new favourites in this Gallery (and it changes with each new page!) are the Japanese ones. Swap Envy! Tongue  And thanks Teachart for introducing us to Marcel Dzama. How can I have missed him?

And never mind a matchbox suitcase swap, how about a tiny book swap?

Thank you soooo much hgddm for uploading fabulous photos of my even-more-fabulous and incredibly tiny bookbox!! I accidentally packed my camera cord, and have only now unearthed it... so now, more pictures  Grin

My Hufflepuff-themed matchbox... Diminutive Book of Diminutivity

Imagine my surprise when I opened my book and a KEY flew out!

Shiny beautiful everything, packed away so neatly (the key needed to stretch its wings after being cramped up for so long)

A Hufflepuff treasure trove! House pride earrings, Luna's shimmering patronus pin, and my very own Helga Hufflepuff golden cup (I'd always imagined it as a teacup!)

Everything together with my note from hgddm. This was a lovely first swap for me, and so much fun!

Wulf

I organized a one tiny book swap last year!!! It was loads of diminutive excellence... Maybe I should start thinking about opening a round 2  Smiley

Every time I look at this gallery, I fall more and more in love with tiny! SO many wonderful ideas! Your suitcase was so exceptionally good, Wulf.

And jillous, I'm so jealous of Luna's patronus pin!

its so hard to keep up with the gallery!  so many wonderful additions every day!
Noooo---please oh please another round One Tiny Book!  that was soooo much fun!!!

on an organizer note, i've gotten a little behind (ah life, it sometimes gets in the way of fun stuff!) so if you could take a look at the front page of the gallery and see if i've got your status color coded correctly, and let me know if it isn't, that would be much appreciated!
also, if you are in tlk's group, she has been a busy busy girl and is working her way through updating things on her end as well!

great swap everyone, such a fantastic group of artists Smiley

I finally found what I needed to upload some pictures! Here's what Foxy Sam's awesome matchbox came in: A closeup of the cutest, smallest crocheted kitty: And a group shot of all of my mini critters hanging out on one of my tchotchke shelves (she sent me the bobblehead kiwi as part of our personal swap):
Thanks again for an amazing swap, Foxy Sam- I love everything you sent so much!!!!

you have no idea the temptation I had to keep that for myself, being a fellow photography lover.

I rec'v the most awesome matchbox from meowari about a week ago (?) and, as has been the pattern lately with me, am late on posting the pics.

The most ironic thing about this matchbox to me is that I was literally thinking to myself (as I was opening this package), "I never get any Day of the Dead stuff anymore in swaps. I need to add more to my wists. I should find a Day of the Dead swap to join...."

And then I opened this!!

Here are all my goodies! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Mexican Lotera cards!! Its a new thing to add to my collection that I have been wanting for a while now!

Truly everything is a favorite but these two things I was especially excited about:

Check out the "drawer liner"!! Its so cool!

Thanks soooooo much meowari for the most amazing new addition to my Day of the Dead collection. I hope my pictures do this little piece of art justice....it is so detailed and beautifully painted. I just adore it.

Yup. Yup. Yup.  The day of the dead matchbox is very cool.

There have been so many awesome matchboxes in this swap it's hard to pick favorites.  The list would be VERY long indeed!
