My partner haroldlovesmaude is in the middle of moving. I volunteered to post pics for her, if she needed, of the matchbox I sent and she asked if I would.  So here goes.

This matchbox was inspired by her WIST and her love for Kentucky. These first two images are straight from her WIST.

She wanted a 3D piece of art to display and this was what I came up with.

Each of the images I chose were hand drawn then painted on the sides of the "block house" I created from card stock.  I chose the banjo because of her love of bluegrass music and stuck with the replication of the images from the houses on her wist.  The houses looked like they were crafted from wood then stamped so I reproduced that feeling as best I could with paint.

This is the drawer filled to the brim.

The contents contained several shrinky dinks that I personalized for her based upon her wists, our messages and some sneaky detective work on my part.  They include a Cardinal (state bird of Ky), a guitar, a LP, music note and I added my squirrelbaitcrafts (from my blog) image. I also made her a mustache because everyone could use a nice mustache.  I also included a camera stamp (she loves photography), and some teensie buttons and then one that looks like a sewing machine. There are some stamps and other bits and bobs.

I lined the drawer with a map of Kentucky as she mentioned she loves maps.

Here is my awesome matchbox from Sylvanna!

She based it on an item from one of my favourite films:

Mini-Han-in-Carbonite! *squeee*

and ALL these goodies.

Close-up of my favourites: beautiful earrings, Sin City stickers, flamingo stickers and teeny bunny (take that teeny fox!)

Thanks Sylvanna! I love it all!

I have decided that the hokey pokey is what it's all about.

Mini-Han! Fantastic!!

Fiberartist4life, that is beautiful! I saw those block houses in an issue of Cloth, Paper, Scissors and loved them -- but a matchbox.... Amazing! Grin

Thanks.  It was a LOT of work.  I had to construct the outer shell (my daughter Snazzlecraft was my support team on that) then drew the images and hand painted everything.  I ended up cutting styrafoam and the flat sheets of craft foam to support the inside structure.

I have just started doing shrinky dinks and had a blast coming up with those.  Again thank you sincerely.

Sylvanna -  well done on the matchbox!  Did you use paper clay to sculpt the outside?  I love all the goodies you stuffed inside - I think the flamingo stickers are probably my favs too!

I really do love the little house. I am so amazed that you painted it, since it looks almost identical to the one on my wist. I will have to find a great place to showcase it after I get settled in my new place. Smiley
