I have really loved making stashbuster tunisian crochet blankets!  They are so fast and easy, I have made 3 since January, and I'm starting on my fourth!

This is my first one, which I used 3 balls of Alp Oriental yarn--it wasn't cheap--but it is really pretty! I watched a lot of tv making these (yay Netflix streaming!) I finished the rest of the McLeods' Daughters series while making it.

I used up my Valentines colors in my stash to complete this one for my moms' birthday, which was in February.  I really got into Battlestar Galactica while I made it, which is now one of my all time favorite series!

And, I just finished this blanket last week!  I used up more of my stash in rainbow colors this time while watching X files and Buffy the Vampire slayer. I know, I am a huge couch potato!

Those look so soft and cozy.  My fave is the rainbow one.  I've never done tunisian crochet... can you recommend a good tute for beginners?

These are really gorgeous! I especially love the colors in the first one ^_^ It looks incredibly soft and fluffy! And I'm a big fan of netflix streaming when I'm crafting (though I can't watch Battlestar on my own otherwise my hubby will kill me! hehe). What was the length of the hook you used in these projects? I've got one that's about 15" but I'm not sure if that's long enough for projects of this proportion. And these blankets really rock Smiley

These look so nice. I love the red one . . the way the colors run from light to dark is really pretty.

Thanks!  It's an S hook with a cord attached, about a yard long, total. The stitch I used is just the basic tunisian stitch, and youtube is where I learned how to do it.

I agree, these look super cozy and I love to stream NetFlix but my hubby gets mad if I watch certain things (like BSG) without him Smiley

Thanks for sharing djonesgirl!

SOOO pretty! I love the way tunisian crochet looks, after I master normal crocheting I definitely want to learn this. The Valentine-Colored one is very pretty, I know a friend of mine who would love the various shades of pink and red you used Smiley

Wow, I've never seen tunisian stitches that big! They look really good and I think it'll be a fast crochet. Please please show off the hook you made these with! Did you buy it or build it yourself?
