Because I was mucking around with altoid tins for the Wicked Circus Altered Tin Swap, I ended up with a few lids kicking around.
This is what I came up with.

Not all that different from your standard tin, I just had to find a way to hinge the two lids together. I also thought that an accordion book would be a great way to use the lids. They are fairly shallow and would make good book covers.

I really love the color scheme you used, and especially the rich blue of the butterfly.

Thanks for the inspiration of what to do with those lids! I have been thinking about using them sort of like picture frames, but i really love the idea of making a book with them.

Love your butterflies!

Can't take credit for the butterflies....had an old transfer sheet kicking around with a bunch on it and I've been playing.

Gorgeous!  I love that you've found a way to use the lids and think a book would be a wonderful thing!

I'm going to have to look back again sometime when The Moth Incident isn't so fresh in my memory.  Ahem.

That's amazing and brilliant.  How did you hinge the lids in the end?  Because by the looks of it they can still move?  (open and close I mean)  They are gorgeous and I'm always a sucker for butterflies. Smiley and amazed at your mad skillz to make it all fit and flow prettily.
