These are the first two paintings I did for my painting course this semester. Both are still lives just because I wanted to, and sort of explorations of myself too. The first one is the stuff I keep on my bedside table and the second is more staged, but essentially the pile of stuff that would be left on the table/counter when I come home from a night out with the girls Smiley

Both are done with acrylic paints on canvas. First one is 5x3 feet (omg Sad ...so big) and was painted from a photograph, and the second is 24x30 inches and was painted from life. I'm sorry the images aren't any bigger, it's hard to truly represent the painting with such little pictures!

Thanks for looking! Cheesy

Very beautiful work! I really like the draped fabric in the second one.  Are they titled?

I love the shoes and dress in the second photo... The fabric almost seems to shine on its own...

wow! amazing work! i love the second painting (the detail in the first is wonderful but i feel the composition of the items in second feel more spontaneous and gives a better flow to the painting)

I didn't even see the elephant until you pointed it out, but man...YEAH! I love him, too! Is he a pin cushion?

maxxev: I totally agree, the second one has more life to it. I guess that comes from painting from life!
FoxyBlue: yes, he is a pincushion! a friend of mine's father runs an antique store and she found him in the store and nabbed him for me Cheesy she knows me so well lol
