i have had a long time love of things ancient egyptian and as a lil girl i was kind of bummed that i couldnt play with the beautiful egyptian barbie i got for cmas one year...and since iv been making amigurumi and my skills are improveing i felt it was time to make ...
Nubit royal the handmaiden, her name means "golden one". her fav activities are danceing, playing a game of senet and watching the ships float on the Nile

Greenshott-I used a pattern from a Jan/Feb 2010 issue of Crochet Today. You would probably have to buy a back issue from them in order to have the pattern. I used the body of the snowflake princess and just did it all in the flesh color. The wig was just a circle to fit the head then doing short rows for the longer bits and the crown was surface chain stitched. The dress...i think was just a double crochet rectangle sewn into a tube, fitted to be tight and a snap fastener on the back...come to think of it...the last few rows were left unsewn so the snap could be added to the top and you could open it wider to get her in it...I would look at the doll for referance but my little cousins had her and several of my small crocheted dolls out at thanksgiving and I need to go hunting for her. heres  a link to the bit about the pattern on ravelry (if you havent joined ravelry yet I highly recommend it) I'll nose around there to see if I can find a free pattern that is close to this one.
