Ooooh! I saw Andre the Giant in the thumbnail and just had to click on this!  I love your stitchwork!  I grew up in a wrestling fan home. I love all the old wrestlers!

You should do Rowdy Roddy Piper and Hulk Hogan, too!

I love Andre the Giant and The Iron Sheik!  Awesome!!

Rock 'n Roll Buck Zumhoff was one of my very faves, as was Bobbie Heenan in the weasel suit -- more ideas in case you decide to continue this awesome collection.  Oh, and one where Mean Gene is looking befuddled while standing between arguing opponents would be sweet too.

Great job!  I love them!!

ETA -- How could I forget Mad Dog Vachon and Baron von Raschke in my list of faves?!  You've got a lot of stitching ahead of you!  ;-)

Too much fun!
Your Andre is my fave.
I agree with the vote for Junkyard Dog, and add votes for George The Animal Steele (that back/shoulder hair would be great French Knot work!), and Rowdy Roddy Piper.
I stopped watching all wrestling back when I was 19 or 20, and a jacka$$ wrestler named Psycho Sid called me a fat bitch from the ring - and I was just sitting there in the front row minding my own biz!

I think that Ric Flair would make an outstanding embroidery subject.

I fully concur, and was going to say the same if you hadn't already.  Smiley

I'm living/working in Yosemite Nat'l Park til Mid-May! Blogging about it here. No swapping for me, and minimal crafting time, til summer. Almost done with library school! That sums things up for now.

Sweet.  I've never been a wrestling fan myself but my husband apparently used to watch wrestling ALOT when he was a kid, and in the last week has found a bunch of movies on netflix about wrestling and some about specific wrestlers.  The one he watched last night was about Chris Jericho which was great because I actually recognized some of your quotes in the beginning (man of 1004 holds- hilarious!).  Anyways, this is awesome, and I'm totally showing it to my husband when he gets home... which will probably result in me having to start stitching up some of our own soon Smiley  Thanks for sharing.
