I am in the Whedonverse swap and made this book box for my partner.

I bought one of those paper mache book boxes and added thick foam sheets which I cut up and textured.  Then painted it all to look like the book from the show.

The clasps are made of plastic sheets I had laying around and its lined with some red fabric.  It was a challenge to do but well worth it.
What do you think?

That's so cool!  I love how you used the foam to add dimension to it.  That's a terrific idea!  Did you have to do anything special to the foam before painting it?

I have one of those battery opperated engraing tools.  I used it on the foam to give it the design.  It worked really well and was very forgiving even when I stabbed it all the way through a couple times. Cheesy
