It's a daily question for me:  what should I make for dinner?!  I was contemplating the question the other day, when I saw this adorable inchies die: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=373949.0.

I figured I'd combine this inspiration, and the latest challenge to solve my daily dilemma.
These dice were made from popsicle sticks and embellished using a wood-burner to make them look like crates.  One die has 6 of the continents, another has proteins, and the third die has vegetables.  I let my kids pick the list of vegetables since they're so picky about what they eat from that food group.

Not quite an inch-cubed.  I had to resort to making each wall 3 sticks-cubed.  The template looks like this:

Here's a collage of the steps I took to make a die:

Each die is comprised of twelve sticks.  Each wall has three sticks, which are glued together with wood glue.

The walls are decorated after this and then joined together with hot glue.

Roll the dice:

Looks like we're having:

I have a feeling these dice will not only help me decide what to cook every night, they'll really broaden my family's palate.

OMG! You suck! ..these are awesome. I've been working on my entry made of popsicle sticks for 4 days now, and just now took a break and saw this and got bummed cuz it's SO COOL! I would totally make some for myself if I weren't sick of popsicle sticks (which I will be when I'm done with my prioject)!!

We should all fear evil men, but what we should fear most, is the indifference of good men. On a lighter note..have you smiled today? If you have not, Just DO IT! If you have..do it again!

I never would have believed they were popsicle sticks if you hadn't said it!  These are great!  Good luck in the competition

Thanks very much for all the kind compliments.  My sons are now taking turns rolling the dice before they go to school, so I can have the daily dinner question answered early in the day  Cheesy  Gosh, we could probably dedicate a new blog to the results from each roll of the dice.
