a few months ago a friend bought me a japanese crochet magazine and although it had patterns in it, there were still instructional words that she also translate for me.

fast forward to february when i unraveled an XL men's sweater, as i do every once in a while when i find an incredibly good deal. then 2 weeks ago i went on vacation and spent 5 days most of the time in pajamas watching movies and a whole bunch of tv. it wasn't all vegetative - i brought that magazine and the yarn with me on this vacation and actually finished this (pics were taken before blocking, so to the top looks a bit bubbly) :

i'm sending it to the friend who gifted me the magazine (who has since moved to japan - southern end, so she's OK if you were wondering). just thought i'd share here first.
