I turned this thrifted skirt into an apron using blanket binding and decorative trim.

I made this project as an intro to thrifting since it makes the initial shopping experience easier by not limiting the buyer to a set size. Just browse for cute fabrics! Here's the finished apron:

I wrote a tutorial on my blog http://kalidarling.typepad.com/kalidarling-monster-ousl/2011/03/diy-thrifted-skirt-to-apron.html.html .

They are very cute aprons! I've always wanted to do a repurposed apron, just for decorative purposes. (I one of those messy gals that doesn't wear an apron.) I just love all the things that thrifted items have to offer. I will never look at another goodwill skirt the same. Thanks for sharing your very cute aprons!

Thanks! It was super easy, I finished the whole thing in just a few hours.

Really cute apron - they are so fun!  Isn't it nice to have a quick project to do, too?

The edging on the bottom and the detail up at the top by the tie really add to it as well.  Very pretty Smiley

arachnes thumb - Thanks! It totally is, I bought 4 more skirts this week. I'm thinking of inviting some friends over for a craft night and using this as the group project.  Cheesy
