Doctor Van Whoopla.......

I stitched this up for my partner jemimah, in the Hoopla 4- Diptych Round....I started with a 12" hoop, a piece of fabric, watercolors, acrylics, and colored pencils .. I really wanted to use some of her favorite themes, as well as incorporate two hoops in a way that was totally different than anything else.... here is the finished project....

Ill be honest... I have never watched Doctor Who.... I did a lot of image searching and some you tube viewing, and really hope that I did a good job representing the show and its characters.... I'm sure all of you "Doctor" fans will let me know!!!

Oh, now that's just too cool. I love the background look of the sky, but then that hoop within the hoop! Ahhh!

  I still can't quite believe that this amazing creation is mine!!! It is even more spectacular (and beautifully constructed) in person!

I have been a fan of both Dr Who and van Gogh since I was a kid (I grew up with a print of Starry Night on my wall, and regularly hid behind the couch when the daleks were on). I love this so very much - thank you OGD, you are a wonderful, creative, generous person, and I'm so lucky to have you for a swap partner!!
