Class: Couch Reupholster
Teachers: PixieVal
Location: Craftster Compound, room 2
Class Size: 13 students
Class Description:
Learn to reupholster in a day!
We will be meeting in the classroom at exactly 7AM so we can trip into town to the thrift stores and find our couches to reupholster.
We will be following several of the wonderful tutorials provided on Craftster, and trying new methods I have invented until you find a way that works for you!
Some of the methods we will be experimenting with:
Adding Dacron to foam
Wrapping Cushions
Double Welting
Heat Gun Area Heating
Trimless finishing
Edgeroll
Shock Cord Springs
Ticking Covers
Seam Striping
Matching Patterns

we will be recreating our couches into the following types:
loveseats, settee, sectional, divan, fainting couch, chaise longue, canape, retractable ottomans, daybeds, futons, King Leon's Bottom Rough, Buttered Upper,  chesterfield, and the traditional sofa

After the couches are completed we will be bringing them to set around the campfire for the big Saturday night compound song and scary story party!

Couches will be available for sale after the campfire!

$200 for compound residents
$350 for compound non-residents
$415 for Craftster Moderators

Steel Toe Boots
Goodwill frequent shopper punch card

Pictures of your living room from all angles. In sunlight and artificial light, and at least one with your holiday decorations.

Do the boots have to be handmade or can we buy a pair and decorate them?  There are some great ideas on the Shoe Board.

I'd like to join but I already have 12 sofas I'd like to reupholster. Can I bring them and skip the trip to the thrift stores?
